Necessity…

A commonly expressed frustration by even the most seasoned continuous improvement professionals is, “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink!

I couldn’t agree more.

That’s rather obvious though, isn’t it? It applies to humans too as it happens.

After having experienced a few such instances myself, it eventually dawned on me that it is not the job of any continuous improvement professional to take any horse to any water source.

The idea is to simply make the horse…thirsty.

The horse will then go seek water all by itself.

Isn’t that what one does as soon as one is thirsty?
